DEMERIT POINTS ON YOUR DRIVER'S LICENSE
The New Hampshire Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is a little like Saint Peter at Heaven’s Gate and Saint Nick a few days before Christmas. The DMV keeps a list of all your driving sins, and routinely checks it more than twice.
If you are convicted of a driving infraction or violation, the DMV will assess and assign you demerit points. If you receive a certain number of demerit points within a certain amount of time, the DMV may suspend your New Hampshire Driver’s license for sometime.
Demerit points are calculated based on the violation date and not your conviction or court date.
